2008 Kitchen of the Year contest

If you've got a kitchen that’s stylish and full of personality, take some photos, grab a stamp, and you could wind up in the July/August 2008 issue of Seattle Homes & Lifestyles! To enter our 2008 Kitchen of the Year contest, follow the instructions below:

TO ENTER:
1. In a cover letter, briefly describe the kitchen and the homeowners. Include the homeowners’ daytime phone number(s) and the names and phone numbers of all involved professionals—architect and/or interior designer, for example—as well as the home’s location, furnishings and finishes. Homeowners must live in Western Washington, be willing to be identified by name in the magazine and be available for interviews and a photo shoot in March, April or May 2008.

2. Send color photographs—jpgs on a CD (preferred), color copies, 35mm slides, 2 1/4-inch transparencies or 4-by-5-inch transparencies—of the kitchen from several angles. NOTE: Quality of photographs can make a difference in the judges’ decision but professional photographs are not required. Professional photographs must include photo credits.

3. Entries may be submitted by homeowners, designers or contractors (with homeowners’ consent), but to be eligible, the home cannot have been published in SH&L or any other national or regional publication or be promised for publication prior to October 2008. Homes must also not be for sale and owners must have no immediate plans to put their home on the market.

Mail Entries by March 14, 2008 to Seattle Homes & Lifestyles, Attn: Kitchen of the Year, 1221 E. Pike St., Suite 305, Seattle, WA 98122. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you want your photos returned. (Seattle Homes & Lifestyles assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged materials, so send originals at your own risk.) Winning entrants will be notified by the end of May.
